Coix Seed

Job’s tears
Coix seed, also known as Yi Yi Ren / Job’s tears, botanical name Coix lacryma-jobi L. var. ma-yuen (Roman.) Stapf, is the dried mature seed harvested from cultivated coix plants. It is widely traded food and botanical raw material within global ingredient markets.
Our dried coix seed is sourced from cultivated planting regions in China. Harvested seeds go through shelling, cleaning, sorting and controlled natural drying. No solvent extraction, artificial colourants, flavour enhancers or preservatives are added during processing. The finished seed is ovoid or broadly ovoid, white to pale yellowish-white, solid texture with starchy cross-section, carrying a subtle mild nutty and cereal aroma. Starch, coixenolide and polysaccharides naturally exist within the seed tissue.

Coix Seed

This natural botanical raw material fits clean label projects across food and beverage production. It works well for grain blends, cereal mixes, herbal tea blends, baked goods, dessert formulations and custom dry powder compounding. Manufacturers may further crack, crush or mill the seeds in-house according to their own production workflows.

We maintain stable sensory performance and consistent seed quality for bulk export orders. Multiple rounds of screening help remove broken kernels and foreign debris before packing. Standard food-grade packaging is available, and custom private packaging can be arranged for large-volume buyers. Organic grade coix seed can also be sourced on request.

Store dried coix seed in cool, dry, shaded and ventilated warehouse space. This raw material is sensitive to high humidity and warm surroundings. Keep containers tightly sealed after opening to avoid moisture absorption and mold risk.
